Welcome to my Website!

Megan Julian is a multimedia journalist who specializes in visual storytelling within the mediums of photography and video.

She works at the Republican-American in Waterbury, Connecticut, covering a variety of topics from high school football to local politics. Megan has helped expand the Republican American’s digital presence by helping host a new high school football show called “Between The Uprights” where she interviews players and coaches from the Greater Waterbury area weekly to get to know them on and off the field. She also shoots live video at various games each week.

Ms. Julian hosted a Live stream on Election Day, giving updated results from local elections throughout Greater Waterbury and Litchfield County.

Megan’s other highlights include interviewing high profile individuals such as former UCONN Men’s basketball coach Jim Calhoun, Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont, and former New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

VIDEO PROJECT – PARENTING TOGETHER

Megan has recently finished a two-year-long project where she has directed, filmed, and produced a 20-minute educational video for the Rhode Island Family Court System where she has conducted interviews with Court officials, a Licensed Mental Health Professional, and a Licensed Psychologist and divorce mediator. The video looks to humanize the court experience, reminding the individuals going through the process of what is of most importance.

INTERNSHIP

Megan previously interned at East Bay Newspapers in Bristol, Rhode Island, where she produced multimedia content on various topics and honed her skills in audio and video editing.

COLLEGE

Ms. Julian worked in the sports section of the Roger Williams University newspaper, The Hawks’ Herald, starting as a reporter and finishing as the editor. She wrote game stories and enticing features, took photographs and produced multimedia content revolving around RWU’s athletic teams and athletes.

She also covered a wide range of topics from the current ongoing environmental crisis to the pay gap between the NBA and WNBA. She strives to bring a human element to every story she tells.

She is a member of the class of 2021 at Roger Williams University.
